I usually take a trip to Beavers Bend every winter. We are planning to take a trip next week and was wondering what your experience was like fishing this time of year. Planning to fish Spillway Creek. Are there any hatches this time of year? what are the suggested patterns for best success?

I'd concentrate on Spillway, maybe upper? A point fly as deep as you can get it, however you know how to do that, and an emerger on a dropper for mid-level, upper-level. Last time I was there they were hitting both about equally. I think Pheasant Tails/Frenchies were working, as well as something Hare's Ear-ish. I wasn't having luck with any caddis-thingies that day. As long as it stays relatively cool, the downstream areas should fish okay too, I think. Donno.
