I hope that I get at least some feedback on this!
I have been fly fishing for almost two years now (still green) and I am coming back to Oklahoma for a week to fish on Broken Bow lake trying to land a Bass on my fly rod for the first time! I have been fishing that lake since I have been big enough to hold a Zebco 33 Snoopy pole and know how to fish the lake quite well with a bass rod and reel. I just am having a hard time determining what flies I should use out there for bass.
I have done a little research and found that some sort of wooley bugger, crawfish imitation, mouse, frog, and poppers will do the trick but can anyone give me some advise on what size, color or any thing else they can think of??
Itd be much appreciated!

What time of year are you planning on fly fishing the lake?

One fly I have had great success with is a Cats Whisker. Below is a link to a recipe. I have to say-the arctic fox is an important element--it offers great movement. Marabou will work for the wing, but the fox is much better. This fly brought me three LM Bass over 18" in the Sabinal river a few years back.

Ward's... I will be there the week of March 16th.. I know that they have had quite the cold steak down there, but I see that the weather is going to be warming up mid next week. I'm hoping that will spike some sort of activity. What are your thoughts?
Danny's.. thank ya! I will look that up. I haven't tackled the feat of tying flies yet but I am interested.

Bass, Maybe find some tungsten bead head wooley buggers about # 6 olive, white or black. Crappy jigs will work as well. And 5' sink tip leader with a 10' regular leader and about 5' of tippet size 4X or 3X. Short strip it back in. Better use a 6 or 8 weight rod to make long casts. Throw at the rocky points and in coves at night during mid March to mid April. From a kayak.

I'd imagine the bass will still be pretty deep - may be a struggle. I'd suggest a full sinking line (although they are hard to fish in still water IMO) and a short (3-4ft) leader of straight 8-10lb mono. The short leader will help you feel strikes - it's tough with sinking lines.
I know the shop had some game changers - a bait fish pattern with amazing movement. Some of my other go-to bass flies are sex dungeons, butt monkeys, and circus peanuts. Silly names, but great flies.

I have heard some really good thing about the game changer fly, especially in the olive color. I plan on stopping in the shop the day I arrive and chatting with them. I am hoping that after this front moves through and starts to warm back up the bass will be a little more active and more out of the deeper water. Who knows though!

Word is the bass are on the banks or moving close to the banks now on Broken Bow Lake. I'd imagine that fly fishing for bass on Broken Bow Lake would be a challenge, but any bass on the fly would be an accomplishment.

I actually completed my trip this last Saturday the 21st. The fishing was pretty slow, but I did pretty well! I caught the majority of the bad on a chartreuse and white clauser minnow. This was my first time fly fishing for bass and let me tell ya it was a hell of a fight on my five weight rod! After filleting a few bass I caught I found some crawfish in their stomach so I started using a crawfish pattern and that seemed to work pretty well!

Here is a picture of a few big bass flies, but I'm using them for trout. i can probably figure out the recipe but not the sequence of tying. The biggest have mono weed guards. Message me for further details.

Here are a few heavy and long (3" - 3 1/2") bugger and Clouser trout/bass flies I just tied up. If you want to fish LMF with the water high and swift this might be what you need to land a few. Throw at the opposite bank 45 degrees downstream and let it drift down with a tight mended 3X tippet 5' long and 7 1/2', 3X leader(yes 3X) on at least a four or five weight rod. Some of these Flies I use weighted jig hooks or, #700 Dai-Riki size 4 1X strong, 4X long streamer hooks. But any large hook will work. On the streamer hooks I add a 4mm tungsten bead behind a small conehead. Or Clouser eyes. The tails are rabbit fur zonkers, then some flashabou and krystal flash. The body is pearl long flash chenille or yellow/black medium chenille, a long fiber rooster hackle and cover the body with medium Ultra Wire, I like red or blue. On the front I wrap three fibers of Sili Legs cut in half. if you can tie a wooly Attachments:
