One of the things I'll do when I get bored is take my 3 weight out to the pond in my neighborhood. I usually expect to catch mostly sunfish. Friday afternoon I decided to make my way around the pond and throw an olive woolly bugger to see what I could catch. I did catch plenty of sunfish, but I did get a couple bigger bites than I was expecting. On a sidenote, is there a fish out there that won't eat an olive woolly bugger? Also, I recently purchased the redington classic trout, in the 7"6 3 weight model (recommended to me by Cord). Let me say that I really like this little rod. It seems to cast really accurately and I never felt overmatched against either of these fish.

Very nice! I was just mentioning to a spin cast friend about how the wooly bugger has the ability to catch almost everything.

Very nice when you can't go trout fishing. I'm over 220 miles away from BB but do a lot of pond fishing here in Texas. Try the olive the bead head scud and see what you come up with. I was fishing a 1 acre pond with my 8' TFO 2wt a few years ago targeting bluegills. This beast took my size 16 olive bead head scud in the upper lip. Even the pond beasts like a snack once in awhile.

I saw that post and have been meaning to pick up some of those scuds to try them out myself. How do you fish them?
Here are some pics of my most recent pond outings. Olive woolly buggers have been go to fly this summer. Not sure how to get the pictures to post right side up on here for some reason.
