Hey guys. It has been awhile since I've down to LMF. I used to come down once a year or so when I was a teenager and haven't been back since2007. I know a lot had changed from what I've heard and read. Short story short I'm bringing my gf and another 2 couples down for their first time at trout fishing. One of the guys is a fellow fishing bud. Any advise on where to hit the river. I used to fish the beginning of zone 2 and just above it. We want to hike some so we don't mind a walk. Not asking for secret honey holes, just some good advise on where to find em or to look, what works well. We'll be spinning rosters in 2 and baiting a little in zone 1 and 3. I fish Roman nose and blue river as they are way closer to me but getting out for a vacay and I have no idea what works there, pattern, color wise Etc. Looking to have a good time and experience some great fishing as I'm hoping to get them addicted to the sport. I know once I cook them they'll be addicted to that haha . I look forward to conversing with fellow members. This is my first post as I just discovered this forum. Thanks for looking, and have a blessed holiday season!

I would think that below the Evening Hole would be good for you. Bait fishing should be good also off of or near the bridge by the swimming area.

Awesome man. Thanks for the tip. My gf has done some crappie fishing and catfishing. Be her first go round at a river. We're really just happy to get w get away and get connected to nature. Do they allow parking by the bridge still?

I think so. You can also drive past Evening Hole to where the bridge is washed out and fish the lower end of Spillway Creek, but I'm not sure, it might be better to approach SC from the Spillway, putting you on the other side of the creek. I know a lot of people fishing with bait do so around there. I'm probably not the best source as I have hardly gone since the "flood".

Has the flood made fishing bad? I haven't been since I was 19 or so 28 now. Just took her to bass pro and showed her the ropes and she didn't like dropping 79 bucks on tackle lol. Thanks man I really appreciate it.

Fishing is more difficult, but if you like to hike and walk a lot, it can be fun. Lots more open space and lots more places for stockers to hide.

Yes we plan to hike a bit. I don't know how much we'll do depends on how the bite is. Does anyone know the last time they stocked by chance. I know it's every 2 weeksish'.
