We have a tendency in our house to plan vacations out well in advance. Next year Christmas time we're going to FL to Disney World and I'm planning on doing the fishing excursion. If so I'll probably bring my 8wt.
More importantly fishing wise is our '18 trip to Yellowstone! I'm salivating just thinking about it, novice fly caster or not!

You can have a great time in Yellowstone regardless of angling/casting skills. Must haves - knowledge of what types of fish are in what rivers, ability to hike/walk a ways, and a camera. I went there when I had only fly-fished for 5 months and had a blast. Brookies are easy, rainbows are fairly easy, Yellowstone/Snake River cutts vary by body of water, and the Browns are tough as hell to fool.

I just touched base with the guide service I'm hooked up with for my Montana trip. Planning has begun--it's gonna be epic. Should be fishing the Yellowstone.

With the ridiculous amounts of rain S Texas has received its been windy as heck! Enough so that with my poor fly casting skills I didn't even bother to J case the 8wt. Nobody was really catching much anyway. Of course today's go home day and its bluebird skies and half the wind.
Oh well, back to the Oklahoma wind to try som pond bass.
