I've been having to wait on a break the generation, but would anyone have any tips on taking striper at the LIR? Locations, flies, ect... anything would be appreciated at this point so that I could have an advantage during the small breaks with fishable water release. I've seen a lot of people with posts about some larger striper being taken at what I assume is watts.

89er guys may want to comment here since that is the primary water of focus for the Chapter. May have to try it if you find a few linesiders...

I have a few clousers, deceivers, articulated patterns, and some of my own creation so if nothing else I can chunk some flies in some of the deeper holes and see if I can't pick anything up.

If you are targeting large ones like we get down here, might try any large articulated. If they seem to appreciate trout like we all do--go articulated that imitates a trout color wise.

No idea honestly man, but you might check out the Tulsa Chapter 420 of TU facebook page. There are a lot of guys on there that seem to more or less fish that river every day and I've seen some nice stripers being posted. You might join the group then solicit advice that way, those guys are generally pretty forthcoming with information. From what I can tell, you don't necessarily need to wait for no generation either. I think guys catch them from the bank with one or even two units running, you just need to know the spot. Fly choice I think you're right on though. Big articulated deceivers, game changers, etc. I would imagine at least a sink tip if not full sinking line when the water is on.

Nice looking LIR striper on the fly as depicted on this week's ODWC e-mail fishing report. Log in here to click on the photo for a larger view: Attachments:
