Are any of you members of the Dallas Fly fishers club? I'm thinking of attending one of their meetings to see if the do much fishing at Beavers Bend. I live about an hour SE of Dallas and love fishing Beavers Bend. Most of my fly fishing will be here now that I'm retired. I'm trying to find some knowledgeable fishing partners and thought they might be an option. Any other suggestions?

Get to know some of the guys on this board..... arrange to fish with them. Very much Beavers Bend specific, but lots of guys venture out to the Rockies, Missouri, Arkansas, etc. DFF is great if you want to flyfish for bass and sunfish or travel for trout.
Personally I have met about 15 guys from this board and now have traveled to other locations with 4-5 of them. Great little network if you ask me.

Great idea Jeff, if I can make the connections. I was wondering if any are in the Dallas club as a way to make the connections. Thanks.

What's strange for me is that I'm the only one I know from SW Arkansas who goes over to BB. Buncha crappie fishermen.

I used to live about an hour SE of Dallas in a small town called Malakoff. Where do you live? I'm in Idabel, Oklahoma now.

OH, yes. We occasionally went to the Dairy Queen in Trinidad. And I used to pass the turn to Key Ranch on the way to Tool Elementary or if I was going up to the Amish store in Kemp. I was the music minister at First Baptist Church in Malakoff from 2008-2010. I've been in Idabel since 2013 and go the LMFR as often as I can.

I lived in Rosebud, AR as a youth for quite a while. My Grandpa took me fishing on the Little Red once. I too am trying to plug into fly fishing - I live in Denton, TX and just getting started.

You guessed it, White County. Searcy to be exact although I was in rosebud, center hill, Floyd, red hill, romance, even joy a lot as a kid. I know that area! Not to tell my age, but I was there where when they built the Heber Springs dam and created the trout fishery on the Red River. Lol Hope to meet you on the LMF one of these days.

Well when I go, I will post up and maybe we can meet up. I would guess we may some of the same people. My family were some of the first settlers in Rosebud so the roots run deep. I recall going to the fishery in Heber as a kid. Fun stuff. Take care -
