Through circumstances beyond my control, I'm about to acquire a 9' pontoon-type trout boat. So, where can I use it? My guess would be from EH bridge down to the dam by the last RV Park area... I think that's what you call the re-reg dam...(?)... Can I use it from the dam down to Presbyterian Falls? There seems to be a lot of water down there that is unfishable/unaccesable for waders. Jury duty Monday.... not sure how long that will last, but I'm heading that way afterwards for a week to 10 days.... or longer...

I don't think you can use it below powerhouse..... but I could be wrong. Below re-reg is ok, there are often kayaks and small craft down there. EH bridge to swim beach may be an option too.

Presbyterian Falls forms a deadly hydraulic back-flow at a certain water level while the water's rising and/or falling (the window for this back-flow lasts longer while the water's falling after generation). A guy I knew lost his life there while kayaking several years ago, and he was a very competent boater who was wearing both a life jacket and helmet. Just make certain you get out above it if they've been running water at the powerhouse.

Below PH is restricted all the way to Z2 camping dam. Best bet would be above and below Rereg.

I was just looking at the stare park map. I've seen several of you referring to the rereg dam and I don't know where that is. Is this the dam at the Fly Shop Bridge? I can understand why they don't want anyone on the river between the PH and the bigger dam by the RV campground. Quickly rising water there could ruin someone's day in a hurry.

No google earth the River, it's way down stream from the Park.
To get there you take 70 east in Beavers bend almost to Bailey's Lumber.
Turn left at the Canoe Rental sign and follow the road north until you reach the Rereg Dam Camping area or zone 3.
There is also a low water dam at the end of the RV camping area in the Park known as Zone 2.
The Siren goes off to alert anyone to a rise and fall of generated water.
You should know once the siren goes off and generation stops it takes about 4 hours before you can fish below Rereg. Usually 1 - 2 hours before Zone 2 is safe.

A number of folks have drown as recent as 2 years ago when it's not generating, it's why the cable says no trespassing you can be in ankle deep water and the next step 12 ft. I won't post the pictures of the last guy they caught on Big Treble...

Thanks for that.... I'm old and don't need the hassle of breaking rules or putting my life at risk. I just downloaded Google Earth last week. How far upriver from 70 is rereg?

OK, found it on Google Earth. Looks like decent wade fishing south of the dam. In all the times I've been on the LMF, I've never been there. I'd hook on to the travel trailer and come tomorrow for a week or 10 days but the weather looks solid bad... If they get a bunch of rain, the generators will be running more frequently when the lake comes up. I'll probably wait a week or so to see what the weather is going to do. Thanks all for the replies. See you on the river.

You can wade for about 75 yards below the dam, after that it is kayak or personal craft territory. That area receives a lot of fish in the winter.
