So I found some forecasting for the region for Saturday over at Weather Underground.
Ice storm prediction
It seems there's quite a temperature and weather differential along a curve sweeping North and especially east. Starting in the Texas Panhandle, again going North-ish while sweeping east, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Springfield MO, those are all just above the icy border. If you live up in those areas, as several who frequent this board do, I think, you probably want to consider hunkering down for the weekend. However, for those of us who are south of that, especially SE as I am, but also the Dallas area, it looks to me like just another somewhat rainy day as we've had for the last several. The temperatures are quite mild, in the '60's. I don't know if it's strange at all that down here our temps are quite tropical and Gulf-ish while just a little north it's going to be an ice storm. I guess it's that differential that creates the ice storm. All I'm know is that I'll be glad not to be in it.
What does that mean for those who want to travel to BB to fish on Saturday and/or attend Evan's demonstration? Heck, I'm going to try it. I'm only an hour and 30 away though, and to the SE, so I should be safe from ice with the temperatures completely mild. I probably would if I lived in the Dallas area, too. BB appears right now to be safely within the temperate zone. Forty percent chances are predicted and I don't see anything about heavy rain. I'm hoping for a day like I had just after Christmas where it dripped and drizzled all day. It didn't bother me a bit. So long as it's not too heavy all day and no lightning, I'm good to go.
For those of you who live a little north and west, I don't know what to tell you. Stay off the streets and make sure the water's dripping.
