Howdy! I have been fishing LMFR for a three years now and it is one of my favorite places. I have barely fished zone three and would like to try it this next week. Does anyone have any tips for me? I do not have much experience fishing the larger parts of the river, but I am hoping to get a chance at some larger fish.

Are you looking for trout, walleye, or smallmouth? Not many trout in zone 3 as temps rise, but lots of good fishing for the other species from what I have heard.

Well my buddy and I are are fishing for trout, but We wouldn't mind trying to hook into some walleyes or Smallies. We have been trying to find a place to fly fish for those species.

It is Spring Break time up there this week and next. Expect some crowds and tubers and kayaks. Zone II and Zone III will give you a shot for at least those 3 species plus sunfish, largemouth bass, black drum, and crappie. Have fun exploring!

Yes, that is what I have been told and has been the tradition. Maybe someone can verify?
