DeeDee and I will possibly head up to LMF on April 24th. I'm wondering just how crowded it will be by then. Are the canoes running by then? Is it warm enough for swimmers and other such criminals to be invading the red zones? Every year I swear I'm not coming this late and... OK... so I need a fix. Jack

Canoes start running at Spring Break when the logs go back in. Swimmers should still be kinda lite. Red Zone is still canoe and swimmer free,

April 24th is a Monday...so I think you'll be OK. The big crowds don't show up during the week until school is out.

Thanks all... We'll show up that Monday and leave Saturday. I won't be back until late October after that. I really dislike crowds and people that think the rules apply to everyone else... not them... Hope to see some of you there.

Travel trailer is clean and checked out... tire pressures checked, etc. All I need is my clothes and some grub... and my guitar... Everything else is in the truck already. Come by the camp and I'll sang fer ya... 8^)... Hopefully I won't be asking if I'm a farmer... HEHE!

schrederman, Sit by the 40' hole area just out of site and play dueling banjo's when a kayak/canoer goes by.

Well, I did have a few RV neighbors in my camp Tuesday... uninvited... I was just trying to practice my music a bit and it attracted a few. No dueling banjos, though... I was actually pleasantly surprised as to how uncrowded it was. I got there in time to do a little fishing Sunday evening and caught a couple on dry flies. Much of the rest of the week, I had the river sections to myself. I caught a strange fish just before leaving the river on Thursday. Back to the middle of it's dorsal fin it was large and then it shrunk... It should have been at least 20" but was only about 15". My biggest for the trip was 20" and I averaged about 7 fish per day. I watched one of the guides with a couple of clients and learned a few things about nymph fishing. I didn't know what a soft hackle was but the fly shop had some... and I caught a few that way before changing to dry flies. I caught most of my fish on dries. My biggest came on an olive Wooly Bugger. Dee and I will not be back until October. The crowds of summer don't appeal to either of us.
