I took a reading of temps in evening hole and it is currently at 58 degrees. This was done with a YSI meter that is highly accurate. Just thought some of you might want to know that.

We picked up bug samples this last week. Black caddis, tan caddis, and green caddis. Yellow stones and such. The regular. Also, I watched a trout swallow a chestnut lamprey that was about 6" long. The trout was about 8" long that hit it.

Tyler I noticed they have blocked off the parking areas on each side of the evening hole bridge. Is something going on there?

While I was there, they replaced all the guard railing in the parking areas. That's why it was roped off. As soon as they finished a section, the ropes came down.

EH Bridge parking is fine. Bridge approaches are repaved as well, no more gravel. Storm did some damage Saturday night, but not bad at all. NOwhere close to what they had predicted. New canoe ramps and shuttle areas open now too.

SE Oklahoma didn't get the rains that central and northeastern Oklahoma did. The EH is gin clear. Water is a bit stained around the swim beach bridge. Saw a bit of tree damage but for the most part the park looked business as usual. Fishing is a tad slower than it was a few weeks ago.

No sir. I fished Tuesday & Thursday. I fished through the middle of the day ( 10-3) as I didn't have the option to fish early or late. Im sure the fishing would be better from 6-9 AM or 5 PM till dark. Those EH fish are a little tougher during that high sun angle it seems. We did Hook several fish below the OPD though.

I saw a few downed limbs and lots of leaves. Water clarity did not seem to change at all except below the few little rivulets of runoff.

What's the OPD? I think I am coming up on 5/20. I think I will head upstream and fish in the bluffs.
