I was wondering if anyone had any advice on fishing the Roaring River since I'll be heading there tomorrow on the way home from Branson. Any advice on areas and flies to use will be appreciated.

Dain will be chiming in on this before long. He knows about some Missouri fishing.

I know flows are still up - about 200% or more of normal. They had a flood back in early May.

So I spent about 3.5-4 hours out at roaring river in the catch and release section. I saw a ton of monster bows and threw everything I had that was natural at them to no avail. I finally switched over to a squirmy worm after my wife lost a stud on a San Juan worm. As it turns out that was the only fly I needed and I began hooking into a few of the studs (I broke quite a few off on the rocks and brush) but managed to get a couple in. I finally hooked into an absolute stud that I had been sight fishing for for over an hour. Needless to say I regretted tying a simple knot instead of a stronger one after the 23"+ fish popped my 6x like it was nothing. Overall I really enjoyed it and I'm ready to go back at some point!
