I'll see if one of my buddies wants to come that way we can split up the cost. I'm a Backpacker. And I use hammocks. I would just throw my hammock and rain fly up and one of y'alls Camp site and chip in a little on it.

I backpack as well, or at least used to, until the last trip destroyed my back. Lower left, couldn't move, pain was legit for 3-4 weeks. Finally went to a doctor, they took x-rays and saw a "degenerating disc." Haven't followed up on seeking any cure because it healed, but this wasn't the first time it was that bad. I love to backpack but that kind of pain is not worth it. I need to lose some weight, see if that helps. Maybe work on lightening my gear. I hate to be unable to backpack again though. Maybe not any type of thru-hike but at least be able to pack a few miles up to some high mountain lake or stream, such as the meadows on Elk Creek.

Btw- the trip that destroyed my back was the first 16 miles of the Ouachita. Not a very easy hike! Hard soled boots are needed here... which I wasn't wearing at the time.

Ultralight. If you can muster it. For mild weather trip I've gotten my base weight below 11 lb

I'll probably be able to make it on the 8th and the 9th, or something like that. I'll have to return in the AM on Sunday the 10th, though. I do pest control in a plant on Sundays. I imagine I'll pull our little camper in to whatever campground we decide on. Really, I don't know exactly which day I'll come in, yet. My wife wants to know, are any wives planning to come? My wife will skip this one. Jon I got you down for RV for now.

I'll do tent I think. Fern sounds better than those group sites down in Zone 2...but I've never camped at either.

I'm very interested in joining the fishing/camping for the weekend. I would be with my son, his first trip to BB. We would be tent camping. Is there room for us?

fwood,
I don't see why not--the more the merrier. Even if all who are tenting can't camp in super close proximity, we can at least choose a common area we can gather to eat and tell war stories.

That’s the week before my finals so I may not make it but I’ll see when the time comes Unless you're Pigman completing your senior thesis by sitting in front of a TV 24 hrs a day trying to prove the Caine-Hackman theory, you should be there.

As of this spring fern sights were $28. Per night althought we paid less because my father in law gets a senior discount.

I'm trying to get my 2 sons, Aaron and Josh, to come with me. They're the ones that got me into this fly-fishing thing, anyway. DeeDee says... no way! She doesn't wanna be chief cook and bottle washer... Imagine that... 8^)

Updated. Hank will go up midweek sometime around the 6th or 7th (maybe 5th?) I think and he has the lead on getting the campsite. Sorry I don't know many names...I am a newb to forum and fishing. Camping List: Darrell, Hank, SmallFry, Danimal, Mirvc17, Stephen, Fwood and Gui Cabin list: Jeff and Todd RV List: Schrederman and JobBo In Town: Turfdawg (Bill?) CigarsnJeeps is hopeful, but work may be calling I didn't see commitments from: Okieman, Troutbum, or Greenman I am working the Hank Patterson visit: my people have made contact with his people. There is some confusion about his "requirements to come" like having cold beer at 6am on the river, along with "distilled water in his VIP camper." They also asked where OK was....not looking good. Update: Hank's group is asking me to collect TU membership numbers. I think this is a ploy so he can decline coming. Who was working the Euro Nymphing workshop? A few wives are interested in coming and welcome of course. So it sounds like some are coming. Hope this helps.
