My question is, is this also an RV area and will we be listening to generators all night? ( no offense to the RV people, but generators are pretty loud near a tent)

January is out for me, so I will help coordinate December if y'all want to nominate me. Sounds more like you've just volunteered Whatever the dates I'll more than likely be able to make it.

I'm good for 8-10 Dec dates...

Dec 8 - 10 is OK for me... My travel trailer doesn't have a generator... so I need water and power. I'll worry about that when the time comes. Are we set on those dates?

My question is, is this also an RV area and will we be listening to generators all night? ( no offense to the RV people, but generators are pretty loud near a tent) The RV spots should have electrical hookups so people can plug in and not need to run their generators. Did you check out the Cypress tent campground yet? It's the closest one to the really nice bathhouse.

Access to the bath house will be a plus. I'll call the state park tomorrow and get more info.

I'll chime in here... my wife's cousin is the overseer of the group camp next to the little train & the horse stables next to Fern Campground.
You get use of the entire area, which includes a bathhouse, huge kitchen, bunkhouses, RV hookups, areas to pitch a tent.
Someone would need to contact the Beavers Bend business office for nightly fees and specific details, but best I remember, I want to say it's around $400 per night, all inclusive.
Main thing, as it shows in this thread, is getting everyone to agree and commit to a date.

I'm thinking that might be a lot on the steep side. We would have to have several commitments to justify it and I doubt we have that many. Might be we just line up tents in a particular campground and convene at a certain area for food/smoke/drink/fly tying

I will go through the thread on Sunday and compile a list of those who have said yes to the Dec 9-10 weekend. Of course many may come sooner or stay later. I think Jeff is identifying the cabin he wants to rent. I am sharing cost and maybe a few others. I will try note if the person is camping or "glamping". Post up if you haven't already.
Hank is right, lets line up tents in a CG. Can someone take the lead after we get a number and reserve a CG for this motley crew of fly anglers? We will see the number on Sun night. Preferably someone who is going early....
Gonna be fun - I am trying to see if Hank Patterson is available to come and address our group. You know, some world-class fly fishing tips for struggling newbs like me.

Put me on the camping list. Note, however, that we may not be able to reserve camping spots. The park office should be able to confirm that.

If I can get down there early in the week, I can see about reserving somehow

I'm still wondering why y'all spend all that money to live like a homeless person when they have plenty of cabins and hotels

I have the same mattress in "Hotel Jacques" that I have at home. I spent many years living in hotels all week and sometimes on weekends in my career... RVing ain't for everyone... but it suits me better than a hotel. I'm OLD... I ain't sleepin' on the ground.

Just to recap what I see: Hank will go up midweek sometime around the 6th or 7th (maybe 5th?) I think and he has the lead on getting the campsite. Sorry I don't know many names...I am a newb to forum and fishing.
Camping List: Darrell, Hank, SmallFry, Danimal, and I think Mirvc17 Cabin list: Jeff and Todd RV List: Schrederman and JobBo In Town: Turfdawg (Bill?)
CigarsnJeeps is hopeful, but work may be calling
I didn't see commitments from: Okieman, Troutbum, Greenman or Gui
Some good chatter about bringing camp food. Maybe we hit Burgers and Blues or the Blue Rooster one of the nights. We can nail down those details later. Pls correct any mistake I have here. I am working the Hank Patterson visit: my people have made contact with his people. There is some confusion about his "requirements to come" like having cold beer at 6am on the river, along with "distilled water in his VIP camper." They also asked where OK was....not looking good.
Who was working the Euro Nymphing workshop?
Hope this helps.

Thanks for compiling responses into this list. Good news is campsites usually allow two tents per site- anybody know if this is the case at BB? I think it is. Anyway, that will make us getting our tents all together easy. I will go down Wednesday or Tuesday- more likely Wednesday.. sure going to be fun! Hopefully we won't have any ice or weather issues. I'll pinpoint food ideas closer to camp, but all the easy and good options are always there- burgers, dogs, camp soup, tacos/burritos, and the necessary COFFEE

You are correct about being able to have two tents per campsite. Heck, they will probably allow more than two because they charge $14 per adult-tent per night.

I'll probably be able to make it on the 8th and the 9th, or something like that. I'll have to return in the AM on Sunday the 10th, though. I do pest control in a plant on Sundays. I imagine I'll pull our little camper in to whatever campground we decide on. Really, I don't know exactly which day I'll come in, yet. My wife wants to know, are any wives planning to come?

Jon, my wife is not- she can't handle the cold. She does like to fly fish, but she gets sick if she gets too cold. Also, she's not an all-day kind of fly fisherwoman, so there would have to be some sight-seeing... and the only sights I'm trying to see on this trip are the bank as seen from the water and my bent fly rod. 😁
