Denny:In pondering the route through the park, the bridges etc. I presume your local accommodations are accessed off the north part of 259A somewhere west of the dam or off 259 itself. We're in TimbrerRidge across from the Water Plant on 259a North.I have some trees to clear so i'll run down there in a bit...

Asking for prayers for Eddie, Roberta, and everyone whose livelihood depends upon the LMFR and my fellow anglers. I was there this morning and what I saw was devastating.

The water supply companies are about to shut down. We stopped at the sporting goods shop in Hotchatown and she said they were having to cancel all 30 of the cabin reservations she had for this weekend. That's an expensive loss. Prayers for all involved. Hope the river (and the local economy with it) is back up and fishing in no time.

Roberta and I can not think all of you guys for what you have done for us and just asking and thinking of us. Aaron thanks for all you have done and to Paul, Kyla and Jett for your help last night helping get the majority of the items to dry storage. We have a higher hill to climb this time but we will do it in quick time. Do not give up on our stream. It will survive and come back strong as it did the last time. At my last briefing we were going to 4 ft with all 8 gates. This is new territory so I cannot even think of what is going to happen. I can say at 3 feet I saws less tress and objects coming down the river. I can only guess that we will get more top soil wasted down stream. I will continue to go out and give any info. If you are planing any trips up over the next few weeks - you may want to put in on hold. I can see this rate of water for at least 2 more days. Could be longer. I do think we will see less change than what we say the last. (only a guess) The access roads to the park are all closed to traffic and will be for some time to come. God Bless you all. We are going to continue to keep this site open and running so information can be shared as always. Keep your faith and all will be back sooner than later. Eddie and Roberta

Eddie and Roberta,
I've only known you about 18 months, but you have invested so much in me already. I can't imagine the impact you've had on the entire community, You have a great heart and positive attitude. I am praying for you. I'm glad you are safe. Things can be replaced. I believe we'll all pull together and make things better than ever.

The coach knows his online team here (we of the message boards) have all been let down by this absolutely unimaginable turn of events on our home turf playing field (the LMF) as much as he has and that positive talk to the team is what we all need.

Please let us know how we can help, pray, donate, spread the message, what ever is needed. I'm glad my father and I were able to make it down for three days last week, and I know you know how much your shop and this river means to many people. Keep us updated

Question: Is the one set up earlier in the year now defunct? Is it separate from or perhaps works in conjunction with that one above? I dunno how these things work other than from sending a donation. See here: www.gofundme.com/beaversbendflyshop

I met Eddie last year for the first time on one trip and later last summer at a fly club meeting. Having been thru several hurricanes living in Jeanerette LA I can empathize. Mother Nature can be a cruel lady!
I was wondering if anyone has been in contact with the state park? There was word from someone in the know that the park could be closed until late January. I've got a cabin booked in 3 weeks. The rental companies require a 2 week notice to cancel. Not much window to decide. Hate to make the trip and end up being a tourist at the local museum. No knock against the museum, but I wanna fish.

I just answered my own question! Finally managed to get thru to the park. The nice lady on the other end said they'll probably be closed for 2-3 weeks depending on the damage assessment. She said the gates are 1 1/2 feet right now and will likely be open for another couple days before the assessment can begin.
I'm thinking cancellation is a safe bet. Very disappointing.

The new gofundme account is separate from the last one. After talking with Peter we opened a new one where we could use our social media contacts to get a further reach for the cause hope this clears up any confusion thanks

It was a good question. A Gofund me request from someone with 1 prior post is something I would be weary about as well. I see TA and Peter is liking your posts but others may not notice that.

I understand that it could be suspicious someone with only one previous post, posting a link with anything involving money nowadays can be suspicious. Despite myself posting one post the questions was a good question and I should have been clearer in my first post with the link. I can guarantee that Peter, Kevin, Ryan, TA, and Coach and Roberta can and will vouch for me as knowing them and not scamming anyone. The gofundme account is rapidly being shared on other social sites with positive feedback I am simply trying to get the word out and help out some good friends. Thank you for your support and donation. God bless

I was stuck in a snowstorm with no Wi-Fi for 2 days..... wow. The new flood is terrible news. Eddie and Roberta I am so sorry to hear of the new shop's demise. While I am not a prayer guy, I can offer my assistance via funds, physical effort, or word of mouth. And Magick will provide whatever he can too
The pictures were amazing. To put it in perspective, 40,000 CFS is like allowing the Mississippi river near St. Louis to flow down the spillway.
I only hope we can rebuild after this one as quickly as we did the first. Sounds like we have quite a few volunteers and efforts underway already.

Maybe a positive note, the dead timber may have been removed and sent to the Gulf...
When I can get access, I'll fly my Drone over the park, right now even foot access is prohibited.
