Just decided I'm only going to fish size 16 Royal Wulffs this winter. 😁 What color?

Ha. Didn't know Royal was the color. If so, then I have some Wulff's in Ausable and Gray!

Yeah I think 'royal' typically just means patch of red floss. Royal trude, royal wulff, royal humpy. I would guess the Royal Wulff was the first pattern to be called 'royal.'

There’s a royal klinkhammer that’s a red butt section and peacock up around the parachute

I plan on only fishing a 'certain kind of fly also' - the kind that will catch me a fish! If the first won't fool them, the next one will!

Yeah, Todd, I didn't spend a whole hour glueing brightly-colored pom things onto egg hooks for nothing! I KNOW those stocked trout are eating real salmon eggs! Match the hatch, baby!

Everyone knows there’s giant salmon at the bottom of the lake that release eggs into the river for the trout

There’s a royal klinkhammer that’s a red butt section and peacock up around the parachute In the King's Game Room with rhinocerous and cape buffalo and eland trophies on the wall, in the evening over hot toddies while discussing the day's sporting exploits, they speak of the "royal klinkhammer". Meanwhile, down in the scullery, they call it a "red a$$". I know, I watched that episode of Downton {something, something} Upstairs, Downstairs {something, something}.

I can just imagine wearing 3 piece suits to the river and casting strictly dry flies

"the purp" threadlinkNo, seriously, of course! Come on! If your a real newbie at the LMF, let me know. When I get back from my camping/go-to-work-from-campsite adventure my wife has me on this week, I'll PM you this description I wrote up of the park and the good wade-fishing areas. If I can still find it. I'm sure I can though. Meanwhile, I think on the website this forum is a part of, there is (was) a really good map of Beaver's Bend Park with, like, the Evening Hole marked out and stuff. It's the same one I used to use before I knew the Park by heart. You might want to print that thing out.

Cigarsnjeeps, I'm basically a newbie, so come on! We'll all just keep track of this post and figure out schedules and whatnot. I don't have a Jeep but I do like a good cigar from time to time. Nerds definitely welcome!
